Redditch
Morton Stanley Park to The Brook, then back to The Bramley Cottage, then home.
Distance: 7.1 miles
Duration: 2 Hours 50
Weather: Sunny & Cold
Not a planned walk this time. The wives were unavailable, so we just printed an OS map of South West Redditch, and followed footpaths, with the aim of getting to The Brook for a quick pint. Unfortunately, The Brook was closing as we got there (so much for 24 hour drinking) so we decided to walk back to The Bramley Cottage.
The pace was quicker without our wives, but not enough hills. I really need to get some uphill walking in.

17.02.08 Hanbury Church
17 February 2008.
Hanbury
Walk 3283 at walkingworld.com
Distance: 4.6 miles
Duration: 1 hour 50
Weather: Cold, Sunny, 2-5c
This walk starts at Hanbury Church (used in The Archers on Radio 4, apparently), and heads off towards Hanbury Hall, and then round to the Jinney Ring. We had lunch on a picnic bench outside the Jinney Ring. It was stunningly sunny, and felt surprisingly warm. The walk then heads back up the hill to the church.
We set off a lot early than normal (hence the cold temperature at the start). The ground was frozen in lots of places, so at least we didn't have the mud we encountered in Tardebigge to contend with.
We also made better time - it's either getting easier, or the cold encouraged us to walk faster - although it did feel a little rushed - too much emphasis on walking, not enough on looking at the wonderful Worcestershire countryside.

09.02.08 Tardebigge
Duration: 3 hours 10
Weather: Sunny, 15c
The walk follows the canal from Tardebigge church, down to the Queens head pub, where we a nice drink, then after a short walk along the road, takes you back to the church over fields. The fields were very muddy in places. We did deviate from the planned walk towards the end of the walk (not intentionally), but this did not distract from the walk at all. Good instructions, and great company made for a fantastic Sunday afternoon in the open air.
